Greek salad traditional dish

Greek salad is a traditional Greek dish that usually consists of fresh vegetables, feta cheese, olives, olive oil and herbs. Here’s the basic recipe for Greek salad:

Ingredients:

3-4 tomatoes, diced
1 cucumber, diced
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1 block of feta (approx. 200g), diced
1/2 cup olives (black or green), chambers removed
1 green pepper, chopped
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
3-4 tablespoons olive oil
Juice of half a lemon
Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, feta, olives and green pepper.

Sprinkle oregano on top and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Drizzle with olive oil and add the juice of half a lemon.

Gently stir all the ingredients until they are evenly coated with the oil and lemon juice.

Serve immediately to keep the salad fresh.

You can also add fresh herbs, such as mint or parsley, to the salad for extra flavor. Greek salad is great as a side dish for meat or fish dishes, or as a refreshing light lunch.
